Durham, N.C. - Twenty-seven USA Baseball alumni have been named to the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game rosters, representing 19 MLB clubs, the organization announced on Tuesday. The National League (NL) boasts 17 alumni, while 10 of the All-Stars that make up the American League (AL) roster have played for the red, white and blue.

In addition, seven of the NL's nine starting position players are alumni, including Giancarlo Stanton, Bryce Harper, Buster Posey, Daniel Murphy, Nolan Arenado, Ryan Zimmerman and Zack Cozart. Team USA is also represented on the bump by Max Scherzer, who will take the ball to begin the game for the NL. George Springer and Justin Smoak are the two alumni that will start the game in the field for the AL.

Of the 27 alumni, nine have played for multiple USA Baseball national teams and eight represented the U.S. on the World Baseball Classic (WBC) team that won gold in the 2017 event.

In total, there are 10 alumni that played for Team USA in the WBC, eight that competed with the Collegiate National Team, seven from the 18U National Team and three that played with the 16U National Team.

The 2017 MLB All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 11, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
