What is USA Baseball?
USA Baseball, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is the national governing body of amateur baseball in the United States. Empowered by the United States Olympic Committee and the World Baseball Softball Confederation, USA Baseball annually selects the only official national teams to represent the U.S. in international baseball competitions. Ranging from professional athletes to collegiate, 18U, 15U, 12U and female athletes, USA Baseball has a major footprint on the amateur game.

GSA: Gillaspie following in brother's footsteps
When Conor Gillaspie was a junior at Wichita State in 2008, no player in college baseball was more intense. The Chicago White Sox third baseman's younger brother, Casey, is a junior at Wichita State now, and he is following in Conor's footsteps by putting up All-America numbers on the heels of a standout summer in the Cape Cod League.

ETSU's Freeman excelling in double duty
By now, Clinton Freeman has the routine down: Come up with the big hit for East Tennessee State, then get ready to take the mound. Freeman has been a fixture in the middle of the Bucs' lineup for three years, but he has also pulled double duty as the team's closer for the past two years, saving eight games in 2013 and eight more this year.

Cavs' Kirby dominating in sophomore campaign
Heading into the season, Virginia led all teams in college baseball with four members of Baseball America's preseason All-America team; they were all position players. But, it turns out, the team actually has an elite pitching staff, and its leading contender for the Golden Spikes Award is left-hander Nathan Kirby.

NHSI: The First Academy wins NHSI title
