What is USA Baseball?
USA Baseball, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is the national governing body of amateur baseball in the United States. Empowered by the United States Olympic Committee and the World Baseball Softball Confederation, USA Baseball annually selects the only official national teams to represent the U.S. in international baseball competitions. Ranging from professional athletes to collegiate, 18U, 15U, 12U and female athletes, USA Baseball has a major footprint on the amateur game.

ETSU's Freeman excelling in double duty
By now, Clinton Freeman has the routine down: Come up with the big hit for East Tennessee State, then get ready to take the mound. Freeman has been a fixture in the middle of the Bucs' lineup for three years, but he has also pulled double duty as the team's closer for the past two years, saving eight games in 2013 and eight more this year.

Fast-working Fedde setting standard for UNLV
UNLV's ace junior right-hander, Erick Fedde, sported short sleeves on a frigid Friday night at Nebraska, with the wind howling and the snow falling intermittently toward the end of his seven strong innings of work. He stayed in attack mode, working so quickly that one UNLV fan described him on Twitter as "pitching like he was double-parked in front of the Bellagio."

USA Baseball names 2014 18U National Team Staff
USA Baseball named its 2014 18U National Team coaching staff Tuesday, led by Grand Canyon University head coach, Andy Stankiewicz, who was announced as manager on January 12.
