• The Labor Day Cup is an open invitation tournament comprised of 16 teams (eight 16U and eight 18U teams). Each team is guaranteed four games. The event will be held in Cary, N.C., at the USA Baseball National Training Complex on Sept. 4-6, 2010. USA Baseball will award 16 teams the right to participate based on an application approval process. The timely submission of complete application information and the receipt of appropriate fees are essential to registration.

•Pool play to be completed over Saturday and Sunday (4th and 5th) with only the championship games to be played on the morning of the 6th.

•The 18U division of the Labor Day Cup will compete using wood bats.
The complete set of rules and regulations will be given to the teams upon accepted registration.

• To register for the tournament, a complete on-line application and $300 deposit must be received by USA Baseball by July 15 -- general registration deadline. The sooner your team applies, the better its overall chances of acceptance. Teams will either be accepted or wait-listed in the days following July 15. If your team is wait-listed, it will be reconsidered should an opening become available.

• Once accepted, teams must submit the remaining team fee ($550, for a total of $850), a roster with a maximum of 20 players, and a maximum of five coaches or adult personnel to USA Baseball no later than Aug. 1. After Aug. 1, each team will have the right to make a maximum of two roster changes by Aug. 15.

• Deposits are refundable until July 31, 2010.

• In conjunction with the 2011 domestic age determination date, to be considered as an 18U participant, you must have been born on or after May 1, 1991. To be considered as a 16U participant, you must have been born on or after May 1, 1993.
