DURHAM, N.C. -- USA Baseball announced the 20-man roster for the 2010 18U National Team Saturday at the conclusion of a six-day trials period at the USA Baseball National Training Complex (NTC) in Cary, N.C. Team USA will compete in the 2010 IBAF "AAA" (18U) World Junior Championships in Thunder Bay, Canada, from July 23-Aug. 1.

The 18U Trials period featured five inter-squad scrimmages in Cary. The Trials roster was selected following the 2010 Tournament of Stars presented by Major League Baseball, which also took place at the NTC. The event and trials annually serve as the primary selection vehicles for the 18U National Team.

Among the 2010 Team USA roster, eight players have international playing experience. Five players are returning 18U alumni -- Nicky Delmonico, Phillip Pfeifer, Brian Ragira, AJ Vanegas and Tony Wolters. Albert Almora, John Hochstatter and Francisco Lindor will be making their first appearance with the 18U squad after playing with the 16U team in the past.

Prior to the World Championships, the 18U Team will travel to New York City for five exhibitions against the Greater N.Y. Alliance All-Stars. From there, the team will play nine exhibition games in Minnesota against area all-star teams and international opponents, before embarking on the 2010 IBAF "AAA" (18U) World Junior Championships.
