SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- The third-place game between the United States and Venezuela, Wednesday, was canceled due to rain. The U.S. finished with a 9-1 overall record and shares third place in the COPABE Pan American Qualifier with Venezuela. By finishing in the top seven, Team USA qualifies for the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, and by finishing in the top six, it qualifies for the 2011 IBAF Baseball World Cup. Both events are scheduled for next fall.

In the first place game, Wednesday night, the Dominican Republic defeated Cuba, 5-2.


ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM: Tournament organizers announced the members of the All-Tournament Team on Wednesday, and four members of Team USA were included on the list, including three prospects from the Kansas City Royals. Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas and Mike Montgomery were selected as the top first baseman, third baseman and left-handed pitcher, respectively, and Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization was named the best center fielder.
