CARY, N.C. -- The Blue team scored five runs in the final two innings to beat the Red team in the third game of the 14U NTDP Red-Blue series.

Mason Thompson singled to left field to drive in Dominic Foscalina to give the Blue team an early 1-0 lead. Blue added to its early lead in the top of the fourth with two more runs scored by Christopher Rodriguez and Morgan Copeland, while Thompson and Russell Smith combined to throw four shutout innings.

The Red team answered back with a run of its own scored by Dylan Spacke on an RBI single by Brandon Moore.

The Blue team tacked on one more run in the top of sixth before the Red team responded with a three-run bottom of the seventh to tie the game at four.

Blue then broke the game open in the eighth and ninth innings by scoring five runs which was highlighted by a two-run single by Gian Luca Dilatri.

Smith picked up the win for the Blue team by throwing two no-hit innings with two strikeouts, while Anthony Acosta took the loss for Red.

The 14U NTDP wraps up Wednesday with the final practice in the morning, and the final Red-Blue game at 6 p.m. ET.
