FULLERTON, Calif.-- Members of the 2012 USA Baseball 18U National Trials Team arrived in Fullerton, Calif. on Friday for the second phase of the national team trials. 27 players will compete over six days for the final 20 roster spots.

The 20 selected athletes will travel to Taichung, Taiwan for a trio of exhibition games before competing in the IBAF Junior AAA/18U World Championships in Seoul, South Korea.

From August 17 to August 22, the 18U National Team will call Goodwin Field on the campus of California State University, Fullerton its home. The Titans baseball program has allowed the national team access to the stadium for practice and games.

The second phase of trials will consist of practices and exhibition games against local scout teams, beginning on Saturday, August 18 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Aside from Goodwin Field and Dodger Stadium, the 18U team will also practice at Angels Stadium in Anaheim on August 21.

The Scott Brosius-led squad will begin international play on August 25 with an exhibition game against Chinese Taipei in Taichung, Taiwan.

The USA is scheduled to play Australia, Netherlands, Korea, Colombia and Venezuela in World Championship pool play.

The remaining roster includes players from 11 different states, led by California with nine athletes. Florida is represented by six players, while Alabama, Minnesota and Texas each have two players on the roster. Arizona, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Virginia and Washington each have a player on the trials team. The trials roster also includes two playes (Aiken and DeMers) who competed at the first-ever 17U National Team Development Program in Cary, N.C.
