Team USA ready to kick off Classic on Saturday
A team of loose, confident players is in Toronto and ready to take on the world in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. Led by Chipper Jones, David Wright, Dustin Pedroia, Jake Peavy and Roy Oswalt, Team USA will try to improve on its disappointing eighth-place finish in the inaugural event in 2006. Team USA begins first-round pool play against Team Canada on Saturday at the Rogers Centre at 2 p.m. ET. Venezuela or Italy will be next up for the U.S. on Sunday or Monday. (AP) More »
