Strasburg wins ’09 Golden Spikes Award
There haven't been many amateur players who've entered a season with as much hype surrounding them as Stephen Strasburg did in 2009. Still, the junior right-handed pitcher met and even exceeded expectations, launching San Diego State into the national spotlight while fanning hitters at an amazing rate. At the All-Star FanFest in St. Louis on June 14, Strasburg topped a strong field of five to take home the 2009 Golden Spikes Award. (L.G. Patterson) Recap »

The 2009 16U National Team Trials roster features players fom the more-than-2800 participants in the 16U Championships.
