Collegiate takes silver, 14U earns bronze, 18U fifth |
USA Baseball fielded three National Teams in July, with the 14U, 18U and Collegiate teams finishing third, fifth and second in their season-ending tournaments, respectively. The 14U team knocked off Brazil in the bronze-medal game, and rival Cuba kept both the 18U and Collegiate teams from achieving gold in their respective age groups’ world-championship tournaments. | Women's National Team set for World Cup play |
The 2010 USA Baseball Women's National Team arrives in Venezuela this week to compete in the IBAF Women's Baseball World Cup. USA will look to improve on its bronze-medal finish in Japan in 2008 after taking home gold from the first two Women's Baseball World Cups in 2004 and 2006 in Canada and Taiwan, respectively. Players across the country are gearing up for the 2010 National Team Identification Series (NTIS), set for Sept. 10-12 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex and adjoining Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
