Beginning in 2010, USA Baseball will implement a rolling invitation process for the players named to the Women's National Team Trials. Up to 30 players will be identified for the 2010 Women's Trials through the USA Baseball Women's Championship and by recommendations from scouts, college and high school coaches, and the women's baseball community. As players are named to the team, USA Baseball will publicize the announcement(s) through a press release and/or by post to USABaseball.com.
The primary identification vehicle for the 2010 USA Baseball Women's National Team Trials will be the Women's Championship presented by USA Baseball. To attend this event, players can either register as a team or sign up individually and USA Baseball will assign them to an at-large team comprised of other individual participants.
During the five-day tournament, USA Baseball Task Force members will evaluate each of the athletes and select a minimum of 18 players to attend the 2010 USA Baseball Women's National Team Trials. At the Women's Trials, players will participate in practices and intrasquad games to compete for one of the final 18 roster spots on the 2010 USA Baseball Women's National Team. In 2010, the Women's National Team will compete in the IBAF's Women's Baseball World Cup with a location and dates to be determined. Additional selection process details will be available when the IBAF Women's Baseball World Cup dates and location are announced.
Information contained in this selection process document is subject to change at the sole discretion of USA Baseball and without further notice.
